Although it was the only way in which I could learn the dances, it is in any case the best way of communicating the nature of the movement. It is also a good way of communicating the sequence of the movements, though it was a little hard for me sometimes if your demonstration was not in sequence! It may be difficult for you to believe, but demonstration is rare in my country!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>I like your insistence on starting a sequence of steps on a particular foot, and I like your insistence on using the correct number of measures for each figure. I find it satisfying to be rigorous in such matters, though this also is rare in my country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>I especially enjoyed the opportunities to repeat dances many times. At dancing events and in dancing clubs in England sometimes we do the dance a second time, but never more than that. But dancing it repeatedly means that you have learnt it and that you are dancing it without trying to remember what you should be doing next \u2013 so you can relax and really enjoy the music, the movement, and the company of the people you meet during the dance. It is good to meet people without the frown of concentration!&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Alan, attending the workshop in 2015<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>en fran\u00e7ais<\/p>\n<p><span>\u00ab\u00a0Ce que j\u2019aime beaucoup et trouve tr\u00e8s utile\u00a0:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Votre utilisation de la d\u00e9monstration<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>La fa\u00e7on dont vous insistez sur le lien entre pas et mesures<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Votre pr\u00e9cision sur le pied \u00e0 employer au d\u00e9part<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Le nombre de r\u00e9p\u00e9titions et de r\u00e9visions des danses<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Tout cela, je ne l\u2019ai malheureusement pas trouv\u00e9 dans la plupart des bals et autres en Angleterre. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>J\u2019aime la fa\u00e7on dont vous utilisez la d\u00e9monstration pour enseigner, soit en montrant vous-m\u00eame soit en faisant montrer par d\u2019autres. Pour moi c\u2019\u00e9tait la seule fa\u00e7on de pouvoir apprendre ces danses et dans tous les cas c\u2019est la meilleure mani\u00e8re de communiquer la nature des mouvements demand\u00e9s. C\u2019est la meilleure fa\u00e7on aussi de montrer l\u2019encha\u00eenement des figures, m\u00eame si c\u2019\u00e9tait un peu difficile pour moi de r\u00e9tablir l\u2019ordre final. Vous aurez du mal \u00e0 le croire, mais dans mon pays les d\u00e9monstrations sont rares.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>J\u2019aime votre fa\u00e7on d\u2019indiquer par quel pied commencer une s\u00e9rie de pas, et de lier \u00e0 chaque figure le nombre de mesures qu\u2019elle doit employer. Je trouve cette rigueur satisfaisante \u2013 et la rencontre peu chez moi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>J\u2019ai particuli\u00e8rement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 de pouvoir faire une danse plusieurs fois. Lors de bals et dans des stage de danse en Angleterre, il nous arrive de bisser une danse mais jamais davantage. Alors que si on fait la m\u00eame danse plusieurs fois de suite, on arrive \u00e0 la ma\u00eetriser et \u00e0 danser sans chercher \u00e0 se rappeler ce qui vient apr\u00e8s \u2013 on peut se d\u00e9tendre et appr\u00e9cier la musique, le mouvement, et les gens que l\u2019on rencontre au cours de la danse.
