Dancers registering for the following workshops must be fully experienced in the basic figures and must master progression in longways duple and triple minor set.

In the early 18^th century, the Playford family had long lost its monopoly in publishing country dances and many new collections were published. We’ll see a few dances from that period,   some of them revised by modern choreographers

For this workshop we’ll go through 4 superb modern dances (2 set dances and 2 longways) on fabulous music by Purcell and Haendel : Michael and all Angels / Fried de Metz Herman –The Queen of Sheba / Marjorie Heffer and W. Porter – Pageant on the river / Cor Hogendijk / –  a Maggot for Mr Purcell  / Nicolas Broadbridge.

Ce stage s’adresse à des danseurs confirmés  ayant la maîtrise des figures de base et en particulier du processus de la progression dans un longways  duple et triple minor set.

Quand commence le 18^ème siècle, le monopole de la famille Playford,  en rapport avec la diffusion de la contredanse, a fait long feu. Les nouvelles parutions foisonnent. Nous étudierons quelques danses extraites de cette nouvelle littérature, parfois remaniées ou réécrites par des chorégraphes modernes.

Au programme de ce stage,  4 superbes compositions modernes (2 danses en set et deux longways) sur des musiques non moins sublimes de Purcell et Haendel : Michaël and all Angels / Fried de Metz Herman –The Queen of Sheba / Marjorie Heffer et W.
